Sophie Cowdell

Sophie is an independent thinker who works creatively and efficiently.  As a natural facilitator, Sophie has formed successful relationships with peers, trustees, volunteers and officers alike and helped numerous groups build their capacity to effect change.

Qualified in funding advice, Sophie has developed a keen understanding of funding issues from developing funding streams, applying for funding and managing £multi million programmes.  Sophie worked for REDC leading on community engagement contracts and before this she had roles with Market and Coastal Towns Association and Gloucestershire Rural Community Council both in the field of rural community development.  Current work includes supporting community activists through her work for the Sheila McKechnie Foundation and supporting the Count Me In Tewkesbury Board with sustainability of their programme and working with Mark and Simon on a Community-led planning training programme for the national body, Action for Market Towns.
