Simon’s core work is capacity-building, networking and business development.
His Common Places contracts include roles with Cornwall Council to establish Community Network Areas, involving stakeholder analysis, skills analysis, research, programme & project development and facilitation. Simon was educated in Cornwall and, following a period developing his considerable international experience, he is again based in Cornwall as a specialist in programme management and institutional capacity building.
Simon facilitated the production of 16 Community-led strategic plans during his contract with the Market and Coastal Town Association and he developed a series of innovative projects for the Gaia Energy Centre based on principles of sustainability and resilience. His international work has been gained through contracts with indigenous Non-Governmental Organisations as well as Canadian, Australian, British and U.S. NGOs in Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, the Republic of Vanuatu and Fiji.
