Sarah Martin

Sarah is a chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute and has worked as a freelance town and country planner and community planner since 2003. She has significant experience of volunteering and working with volunteers on a variety of local and national projects, including a community green waste scheme, school environmental projects and with the charity Planning Aid; at present developing Neighbourhood Planning in Bristol.
She has worked for local government at South Gloucestershire Council, Cotswold District Council and Gloucestershire County Council, both in land use and community planning roles and is expert in the field of community engagement and consultation. Sarah is experienced in policy development, project management, bidding for funds, engaging young people in community and environmental projects and sustainability appraisal. Recent projects have included promoting good environmental practice in education, stakeholder engagement and consultation on major site redevelopment, a faith audit for Thornbury Churches Together and as part of the team appraising the viability of acquisition by the community of the Old Hospital in Minehead.
